How to be a better listener

If you want to be a good listener - tell yourself you are a bad listener.

If you are doing 80% of the talking then you are not listening.

If the customer is doing 80% the conversation is probably going well.

Take notes to help you listen, to remember what has been said and to demonstrate that you are valuing what is being said to you.

The human memory is unreliable and it can change over time, leading to the potential for a distorted view of what really happened.
